Menus don't get redrawn properly when closing a submenu

Description
Ralf Carl and others reports that closing a submenu doesn't redraw properly current open menus.
This is a known bug but fixing it requires major changes to the menu code. Since we are going to either rewrite and use another UI framework to optimize the space (cf ticket #3), it is likely not to be fixed soon.
